AI tools for job seekers: 14 tools by task
Looking for a job involves a lot of repeated paperwork. These are the tools in our directory for the main parts: building and checking a resume, keeping track of applications, writing cover letters and messages, and practicing for interviews.
Listed by task, alphabetical within each task, not ranked and not tested: we have not used these tools. Descriptions and starting prices are the ones on each tool's page, from the vendors' own sites and other public sources, and they change, so confirm on the vendor's site before you pay.
Before you pick a tool
- Treat a score as a hint, not a verdict. Resume checkers rate your resume against a job post using their own method. Use the feedback, but do not assume a high score means you will be shortlisted.
- Read what the free plan limits. Free plans often cap exports, scans or AI credits. Check the limits before you build your resume inside a tool, and keep a copy of the file.
- Look at the privacy terms. A resume holds your address, history and contacts. Read how the vendor stores it and whether it is used for anything beyond your account.
- Everything you submit must be true. AI can suggest wording, but you are responsible for the claims in your application. Check each line before you send it.
