Jobscan and Resume Worded side by side: what each one is, what it costs to start, and whether you can try it free. Everything below comes from the vendors' own sites and other public sources, not from hands-on testing.
Neither tool is ranked above the other here. These are research-based profiles, not hands-on tests. Starting price is the lowest listed paid plan per month (annual-billing equivalent where the vendor lists one), as shown on the vendor's own site when we last checked. About each tool
J

Jobscan
Resume scanner that scores a resume against a job listing. Free has 5 scans a month; Premium is $89.95 billed every 3 months (about $29.98 a month) or $49.95 monthly.
Who it is for
Job seekers who want to check and tailor a resume against a specific job posting before applying. Jobscan also sells a separate Coach plan for career coaches (Coach Lite lists one coach seat and up to 10 client seats), plus University and Business plans.
Strengths
- Jobscan says generating a Match Report and seeing the initial Match Rate is free, and it accepts PDF and DOCX uploads or pasted text.
- Jobscan says each scan runs over 30 checks in five categories: ATS Readability, Keywords & Skills, Content Strength, Job Match and Formatting.
- Jobscan names Lever, Greenhouse, Taleo, iCIMS and Workday as ATS platforms, and says it tries to identify the ATS from a company name or job listing URL to give tailored tips.
- Jobscan lists Premium as including unlimited resume and job description scans, unlimited scan history, a full Match Report, LinkedIn profile scans, and a Cover Letter Report with an AI cover letter generator.
- Jobscan says its AI Optimize tool lets you accept or reject each suggested edit while watching the Match Rate change.
- Jobscan's GDPR page says it will not share personal information with third parties outside the organization other than for job recommendations or product feedback and analysis, and that you can email support@jobscan.co to ask for your data to be deleted.
Limitations
- The full Match Report (all hard and soft skills, font, size and margin advice), LinkedIn scans and the cover letter generator are listed as Premium features.
- Jobscan's own pages disagree slightly: its Resume Worded comparison post lists the quarterly plan as $29.99 a month, while $89.95 every 3 months works out to about $29.98; the same post says a few free scans a month while its Premium page says 5.
- Jobscan says the Match Rate is its own visualization and not a score assigned by an employer's ATS. Jobscan pages that were read did not state credit limits for AI Optimize or whether resumes are used for AI training.

Resume Worded
Resume and LinkedIn review tool with a free resume score; Pro is $19 a month as one $229 annual payment ($49 monthly).
Strengths
- The home page says the free resume review gives a score out of 100 with line-by-line feedback based on 30+ recruiter checks, and that you can re-upload as many times as you want at no cost.
- The home page lists AutoFix (drafts rewrites of weak lines from your own experience, with you approving each change) and Smart Target (compares a resume to a pasted job description and shows matched and missing keywords with a relevancy score).
- The Pro page lists unlimited complete resume and LinkedIn reviews, the full line-by-line report, full LinkedIn analysis with keyword analysis, a Targeted Resume report, AI writer features, recruiter insights and ATS-optimized Word templates.
- The home page says uploads are scanned securely and kept private, and can be deleted at any time. The privacy policy says deletion requests sent by email are handled within 48 hours.
- The privacy policy names OpenAI, Google Gemini and Anthropic as AI processors and says each is contractually obligated not to use data sent through its API for training.
- All three Pro plans on the upgrade page are labeled cancel anytime, and payments accept PayPal and major debit or credit cards through Paddle.
Limitations
- The terms say Pro uploads are unlimited but core tools are capped at a maximum of 250 times per month, and exceeding it may lead to termination of the Pro account.
- The terms say refunds are not available to first-time purchasers. Existing members who forgot to cancel must contact support within 48 hours of the billing date, and requests may get a voucher, credit or partial refund case by case. The Pro page shows no money-back guarantee.
- Monthly and quarterly plans renew on their cycle until you cancel, and the terms say the company is not responsible for charges if you forget to cancel. The One Year plan is described in the terms as a one-time one-year option, while the Pro page calls it a payment of $229, so confirm whether it renews.
