About each tool

Kickresume

Online resume and cover letter builder with an AI toolbox and a free plan; Premium starts at $8 a month billed annually ($24 monthly).

Who it is for

It suits job seekers who want template-based resumes and cover letters with AI help, plus a job application tracker. Kickresume also offers 6 months of Premium free to students and teachers who verify their status.

Strengths

  • Kickresume's pricing page lists unlimited resumes, cover letters and downloads on the free plan, with 4 resume templates, 4 matching cover letter templates and 1 website template.
  • The pricing page says paid plans include 40 resume templates, 40 cover letter templates, 7 website templates, all colors and 26 fonts, versus 2 fonts and limited colors on Free.
  • Kickresume says Premium includes unlimited use of its AI toolbox, which its help page lists as a resume and cover letter writer, translation, tailoring, a resume checker, an interview questions generator and an AI career coach.
  • Paid plans list LinkedIn and PDF import, priority email and chat support, and Kickresume's help page also lists human proofreading and access to a job board.
  • Kickresume lists Career Map, a free job application tracker, and its iOS and Android apps on the free plan, per its help page.

Limitations

  • Kickresume's own pages disagree on the free plan's AI access: the pricing page says Free excludes the AI Resume & Cover Letter Writer and AI Resume Checker, while its help page says Free includes limited use of them. No numeric AI caps are published.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the term ends; the terms say subscriptions are non-returnable and cancelling does not refund the rest of the period, apart from a 14-day money-back guarantee that applies once per user.
  • The privacy policy says AI features send your data to third-party providers named as OpenAI and Anthropic, and that Kickresume may train its systems on anonymized user data, which you can object to; it notes anonymization cannot be fully guaranteed.
  • A separate grammar correction service is listed at $30 per resume, and Kickresume gives advance notice of recurring fee increases under its terms.

Rezi

AI resume builder with an ATS-style Rezi Score, AI writing tools and interview practice. Free plan available; Pro is $29 a month (no annual price listed).

Who it is for

Rezi says it is for job seekers in general, including students, recent graduates, tech workers and executives. Its Enterprise plan is aimed at organizations such as universities, agencies and career sites.

Strengths

  • Rezi lists a Free plan at $0 with 1 resume, 1 AI interview and 3 PDF downloads, and says it includes the AI Resume Writer and AI Resume Editor.
  • Rezi lists Pro with unlimited resumes, AI interviews, PDF downloads and AI features, plus full Rezi Score, keyword targeting and AI Resume Agent access, and PDF, DOCX and Google Drive export.
  • Rezi says its Rezi Score rates a resume on Content, Format, Optimization, good-practice checks and Application Readiness, with suggested fixes.
  • Rezi lists a Chrome extension that auto-fills job applications from a Rezi resume and tracks applications as Applied, Interviewing, Rejected and Saved Jobs; its docs name Workday, Greenhouse and Lever as examples.
  • Rezi's docs describe a Resume MCP server (tools list_resumes, read_resume, write_resume) for Pro subscribers, with Codex, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Gemini CLI and Lovable named as clients.
  • Rezi lists a one-time Lifetime plan at $149 and says all paid plans (Pro and Lifetime) carry a money-back guarantee, with refunds requestable within 30 days of purchase.

Limitations

  • The Free plan has no cover or resignation letter builders and no DOCX or Google Drive export; the plans doc lists those under Pro.
  • Expert resume reviews are separate: Pro includes one a month, Lifetime does not, and reviews otherwise start at $8.
  • Rezi's pages disagree in places: the plans doc shows £29 and £149 in its summary but $ elsewhere, mentions a quarterly option with no price, and lists five Pro templates while the home page names more layouts. The pricing page also shows a Lifetime buy option on the Enterprise card.
