Bloomerang is a nonprofit software suite made up of a donor CRM, a fundraising product (donation forms, events, text fundraising) and a volunteer management product. It runs as a web application with mobile apps for fundraisers, donors and volunteers, and the vendor also offers an AI assistant called Penny inside its Giving Platform.
Who it's for
The vendor aims it at nonprofit fundraisers and organizations, with testimonials from executive directors and advancement staff. It is not presented as a tool for individuals or for-profit businesses.

Strengths
- Bloomerang says every plan comes with unlimited users, and the CRM lists customizable user permissions.
- The CRM page lists constituent timelines, dynamic donor groups, reporting dashboards, automated outreach from the first gift, duplicate prevention and free nightly NCOA address updates.
- Bloomerang Fundraising lists donation forms, event management, text fundraising, mobile apps, recurring and one-time gifts, matching gifts and digital wallet payments; auctions and peer-to-peer are add-ons.
- Bloomerang Volunteer lists AI-powered scheduling, messaging, built-in background checks, unlimited volunteer shifts and a sync of volunteer and donor data.
- The FAQ says conversions are handled by a dedicated project manager, cover historical donations, interactions and constituent records, are validated in a sandbox, and can transfer recurring transactions; the vendor says it has done over 5,000 conversions.
- Penny, the AI assistant, is described as flagging lapsed donors or donors ready for a larger ask, preparing meeting briefs and drafting thank-you notes, and making no changes without the user's confirmation.
Limitations
- Pricing is tied to the number of records tracked, and the pricing page gives no record tiers or caps; the Giving Platform bundle is quote-only, so the final price cannot be read from public pages.
- Bloomerang Fundraising ($40 a month) must be bought as a bundle with Bloomerang CRM, so $40 is not a standalone starting price; auctions and peer-to-peer are add-ons with no listed price.
- Payment processing is charged on top of the subscription: the help center lists 3.95% + $0.30 for Visa, Mastercard and Discover through Bloomerang Fundraising, and 3.2% + $0.30 through Bloomerang CRM payments; the organization's own rates appear on its Fee Schedule.
- The pricing page lists annual billing only and does not say which plans include Penny, Prospect AI or predictive insights, or whether they cost extra; the Penny page also does not list plans or pricing.
- The pages read do not state contract length, cancellation or refund terms, or a nonprofit discount, and the FAQ says standard data conversion takes 12-14 weeks.
- The security page names SOC 2 and PCI compliance only in its meta description, not in its visible text; the visible text refers to unnamed certifications and a Trust Center.
