What is Forethought?
Forethought is an AI platform for customer support that includes Solve (an AI agent that resolves customer issues), Triage (ticket classification and routing), Assist (a copilot for human agents), Discover (knowledge-gap detection) and Agent QA. It runs through chat, email, voice, Slack, in-app mobile, SMS, headless and API deployments, and connects to helpdesks and CRMs.
Who it's for
Forethought is aimed at customer support teams that want AI agents to handle tickets and conversations on top of an existing helpdesk, CRM and knowledge base. Its pricing is quote-based and the vendor offers a Proof of Value instead of a free trial, so it is sold to companies through sales rather than to individuals.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Forethought lists five modules: Solve (resolves issues end to end), Triage (tags and prioritizes tickets by sentiment, language and urgency, filters spam), Assist (ticket summaries and reply drafting for human agents), Discover (flags content gaps and drafts articles) and Agent QA.
- The Solve page lists chat, email, voice, Slack and headless (API-embedded) channels, and says 100+ languages are supported. The platform page lists chat, email, voice, Slack, mobile, headless and API.
- Forethought says it has 70+ integrations, naming Zendesk, Salesforce, Intercom, Document360, LiveChat, Five9, Gorgias, Notion, Airtable, 8x8, Stonly and Genesys.
- Solve can call customer APIs through Custom Actions (for example refunds or account updates) and, per the vendor, a Browser Agent can log in and click through systems that have no API. Autoflows builds workflows from natural-language instructions.
- Forethought says Agent QA evaluates 100% of support interactions with customizable rubrics, versus under 5% typically reviewed manually (vendor claim).
- Forethought's security page lists ISO 27001, annual SOC 2 Type II audits, and HIPAA- and NIST 800-53-aligned controls. It says data is encrypted at rest and in transit and that original data is deleted within 24 hours after PII, PHI and financial-record redaction, which it says is done on an effort basis, with no guarantee.
Limitations
- No prices are published. The pricing page shows Team, Professional and Enterprise with a Get a Quote button, and the vendor offers a Proof of Value rather than a free trial or free plan.
- Pricing is described as a blend of platform access fees and outcome-based charges. The SaaS agreement says usage above the annual Maximum Volume of Deflections, Predictions and Conversations incurs a per-unit overage charge, and unused volume does not roll over to later contract years.
- Per the SaaS agreement, orders auto-renew for successive 12-month terms unless notice is given at least 30 days before the term ends, and fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable except as the agreement states (for example prepaid fees refunded if the customer terminates for Forethought's uncured breach).
- Several features are tiered or sold separately: email, voice and Slack agents start at Professional; Solve API, knowledge-gap detection and Analytics API are listed under Enterprise; Multibrand (up to 20 brands), Analytics API and Discover are also listed as quote-only add-ons. The comparison table's tier limits (such as AI QA rubrics of 1, 5 and 20) are not clearly mapped to plans.
- On training: the FAQ says the AI is trained on customer-specific data and historical support data. The SaaS agreement does not mention model training, but lets Forethought use Customer Content to provide, secure and improve its services and to use aggregated data for its business purposes. Prices were read from forethought.ai/pricing, which lists plan contents but no dollar amounts; the vendor's pricing-learn-more page also only says to contact sales. Billing basis, currency and any minimum commitment are not published on those pages; the SaaS agreement says fees are in U.S. dollars unless the order form says otherwise. Confirm on the live pricing page and with Forethought sales.
