What is VEED?
VEED is a browser-based video editor with AI features, including auto-generated subtitles, subtitle translation, text-to-speech and a Gen-AI Studio that assembles short videos from a text prompt using stock clips. Exports are MP4.
Who it's for
People and teams who edit and caption video in a browser, such as marketers and creators. VEED's education page says teachers get a Pro account at no cost.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- A free plan is available, with exports capped at 720p
- Paid exports go up to 1080p, and higher plans up to 4K
- Subtitle translation is included; free and entry paid plans get one trial use
- Gen-AI Studio writes a script, adds text-to-speech voiceover and lip-synced avatars, and can add subtitles and music
- Billing can be monthly or annual
Limitations
- Free-plan exports carry a VEED watermark; only paid plans remove it
- Translation and Gen-AI Studio generations use AI credits, which are available only in some regions
- Per VEED's own article, Gen-AI Studio builds videos from stock clips and does not generate AI video
- Subscriptions auto-renew, and cancelling stops future charges but does not give a refund
Plans and pricing
- Free: $0. 720p export with a VEED watermark.
