What is Plaud?

Plaud is an AI note-taking service that transcribes and summarizes recordings made with Plaud voice-recorder devices. Plaud's help center says recordings sync across its app, web and desktop apps, with AI transcription, summaries and search across recordings.

Who it's for

Plaud's help center describes Pro for professionals with regular meeting and call volume, and Unlimited for high-volume users such as doctors, lawyers and journalists. Team is sold per seat for organizations that want a shared workspace and central admin.

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • Plaud lists AI transcription in 112+ languages with speaker labels and 10,000+ summary templates on all plans.
  • Plaud says customer audio, transcripts and summaries are not used to train, fine-tune or evaluate AI models unless the user explicitly opts in, and that its AI providers apply zero retention.
  • Plaud's trust center lists data processing in the US, Europe (Frankfurt), Japan and Singapore, with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2 or higher in transit.
  • Plaud lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, GDPR, HIPAA and EN 18031 as its compliance status; audit reports are said to be available through a linked trust portal.
  • Plaud lists Google Calendar, Zapier and Plaud MCP integrations on all plans, marked as preview, plus Ask Plaud search across recordings and AutoFlow for action items and exports.
  • Plaud's Team plan lists shared team files, centralized billing, user, seat and device management, and workspace-level data residence.

Limitations

  • Starter is capped at 300 transcription minutes a month and Pro at 1,200; unused minutes reset each billing month and do not roll over. When minutes run out, transcription pauses while recording and other features keep working.
  • Extra minutes are sold as one-time packs of 600, 3,000 or 6,000 minutes (the help center also lists a 120-minute pack in the app); the pricing page and help center do not list top-up prices.
  • Team launch prices ($20 annual, $28 monthly per user) end Nov 30, 2026; after that Plaud lists $25 annual and $35 monthly per user. SAML SSO and a Data Processing Agreement are Contact Sales only.
  • Plaud's pages do not clearly say whether paid individual plans can be bought without owning a device. Plaud's help center says Pro and Unlimited differ only in transcription capacity, yet also says all plans share a 24-hour daily cap, which is unclear for Pro.
  • Refunds for subscriptions bought through Stripe or Google Play are requested through Plaud support with no stated window; Apple App Store refunds go through Apple. Redeemed activation codes are non-refundable.

Plans and pricing

  • Starter: $0. Included with every Plaud device and an activated account; 300 transcription minutes a month.
  • Pro: $8.33 a month billed annually, or $17.99 monthly. 1,200 transcription minutes a month (about 20 hours). The annual price is listed as $99.99 a year.
  • Unlimited: $20.00 a month billed annually, or $29.99 monthly. Up to 24 hours of transcription per day. The annual price is listed as $239.99 a year.
  • Team: $20 per user a month billed annually for the first year, or $28 per user monthly. Up to 24 hours of transcription per day per seat; no seat minimum or maximum listed. After Nov 30, 2026 Plaud lists $25 annual and $35 monthly per user. Adds shared files and admin tools.

Prices were read from Plaud's official US pricing page (listed in USD); the help-center comparison article lists minutes but no prices. Subscriptions can be canceled anytime and stay active until the end of the paid period; after cancellation the account reverts to Starter and recordings are kept. Confirm on the live pricing page.
