What is OpusClip?

OpusClip is a web tool that takes a long video, finds segments and cuts them into short clips with captions and reframing for social platforms. It can also schedule or post the clips to connected social accounts.

Who it's for

Creators, podcasters, marketers, agencies, media companies and livestreamers who repurpose long videos into short clips, as listed on OpusClip's homepage. Teams that need more than 10 seats, API access or custom volume are directed to the Business plan.

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • The Free plan has no stated time limit and lists 60 processing minutes a month, 1080p MP4 export, AI captions and AI reframing
  • OpusClip lists imports from YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo, Zoom, Twitch, Dropbox, Loom, StreamYard and public MP4 links, and local files up to 10GB
  • Clips can be posted to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram from Starter up. Pro adds a scheduler and several aspect ratios
  • Pro lists Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve export, AI B-roll, video dubbing, limited API access and 100GB of storage
  • Processing cost is stated plainly: 1 credit per minute of imported video, and a time-range slider lets you process only part of a video

Limitations

  • Free plan exports carry a watermark and have no editing. Clips cannot be exported after 3 days, and OpusClip's Terms limit Free use to personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Credits are metered at 1 per minute of the original video, in whole minutes, not per clip created. Posting to X costs an extra 3 credits per clip
  • Monthly-plan credits expire after 60 days. Yearly plans get the full year's credits up front, valid for 12 months
  • Starter is monthly only and its stored media expires after 29 days. Annual billing is offered only on Pro
  • OpusClip says it may use individual (non-enterprise) users' data to improve its AI models after removing personal identifiers, and does not use enterprise customers' data for training
  • Its Terms grant OpusClip a perpetual, irrevocable license to process and reproduce uploaded content to run the service, and ownership stays with you

Plans and pricing

  • Free: $0. 60 processing minutes a month, 1080p MP4, watermark, no editing, personal use only.
  • Starter: $15 a month (monthly billing only). 150 credits a month, watermark removed, basic editor and auto-posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  • Pro: $29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed $174 annually. 300 credits a month, unused credits roll over for 2 months, 2 team seats, more import sources, scheduler and 100GB storage.
  • Business: Custom. Contact sales for custom credits, seats, storage, API and priority processing.

Prices and credits are from OpusClip's pricing page and help center. We read only the first part of the pricing page, and its own pages differ on a few Starter and Pro limits, which we leave out. We could not open its privacy policy, so privacy points come from its help center and Terms.

Details checked October 2026 against the vendor's own pages. Prices and limits change, so confirm before you buy. Official pricing page ↗
