What is Nabla?
Nabla is a clinical AI assistant that listens to patient-clinician conversations and drafts structured clinical notes. It also offers dictation and coding suggestions, and runs as a web app, iOS and Android apps, a Chrome extension and an API.
Who it's for
Nabla is aimed at clinicians and health organizations; its site highlights health systems and EHR integrations, and a partner offering called Nabla Connect for embedding it in other products. It is not a consumer or patient-facing app, and the vendor's terms say users must review and validate all AI output themselves.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- The vendor's help center says notes sync across the desktop web app, iOS and Android apps and the Chrome extension when you sign in with the same email.
- Nabla's help center says it supports more than 30 languages for ambient note capture.
- Nabla's site lists ambient documentation, dictation built into Epic and other major EHRs, and E/M and ICD-10 coding suggestions, with final decisions left to the clinician.
- The homepage shows Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, NextGen, Arya and Greenway Health integrations, and says it works with other major EHRs.
- Nabla's help center says audio is not retained by default and patient data is kept for a configurable period, with a standard setting of 14 days.
- The vendor says it follows HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and NIST standards; its Trust Center lists a SOC 2 Type II report (Nov 2024 to Oct 2025) and an ISO 27001 certificate available on request.
Limitations
- Nabla's help center lists an individual subscription at $119 USD a month, but the main site shows no pricing and only offers 'Try it for free' and 'Talk to our team'. Confirm current prices with Nabla.
- The help center describes a 30-day free trial for individual users, after which you must subscribe. It does not describe a permanent free plan, and a third-party review reports a free tier with volume limits that the vendor pages did not confirm (Reported).
- Group rates and health-system pricing are not published; the help center says to email support@nabla.com with the group size.
- The Terms of Service (updated June 2026) say Nabla may use de-identified data sent through the services to train its internal AI model. The patient-data help article and Trust Center pages do not address training. The Terms say the service does not provide medical advice and that clinicians are solely responsible for reviewing AI outputs, including for billing.
- Paid plans are invoiced monthly in advance and renew monthly; the Terms give a 30-day notice period in one place and one month in another, and include no refund policy. The Terms do not mention a free trial, although the help center does.
Plans and pricing
- Free trial: $0 for 30 days. Individual users get 30 days to test features, then are asked to subscribe. Reported on the help center; the Terms do not mention a trial.
