What is Fabi.ai?

Fabi.ai is a self-service analytics platform where you connect data and ask an AI data analyst questions in plain English; it writes SQL or Python and returns charts and tables saved in notebooks called Smartbooks, which can be published as dashboards. It runs as a web app, with a command-line interface for AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) and a Slack app on higher plans.

Who it's for

The docs describe it for self-service data analysis, dashboards and automated data workflows, from individuals on the free plan to teams of 4 or more builders and enterprises with custom needs. The vendor does not say who it is not aimed at.

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • Fabi.ai's docs list uploads of CSV, Excel, Parquet and JSON files and Google Sheets, plus database and warehouse connections such as Snowflake, BigQuery and PostgreSQL.
  • Fabi.ai says the AI writes SQL or Python, handles follow-up questions, and saved outputs become blocks in a Smartbook that can be turned into a dashboard and shared.
  • Fabi.ai's docs list scheduled dashboards and workflows from the Builder plan up, a Slack app on Team and Enterprise, and dashboards with an embedded AI agent for follow-up requests.
  • Fabi.ai's docs list a Starter plan that is free, and 14-day free trials of Builder and Team that need no credit card to start.
  • Fabi.ai's docs say all plans include SOC2 compliance and 24/7 support; Enterprise adds a custom security review, quarterly roadmap reviews and a fractional data science team.
  • Fabi.ai's terms say its agreements with third-party LLM providers do not permit them to train AI models on Customer Data.

Limitations

  • The Starter plan is capped per the docs: 1 Builder seat, 25 AI requests a month, 5 Smartbooks, 10 dashboard viewers, 1 database connector, 50MB file uploads, no application connectors, no scheduled dashboards and no Slack app.
  • Builder is $39 a month per seat with up to 3 builders, 300 AI requests a month, 10 Smartbooks and 25 viewers; the Slack app is reserved for Team ($50 a month per seat) and above.
  • Application connectors (Builder and up) are billed apart from seats: $100 a month per connector with 200k record updates, $50 per additional 100k records, and a default $400 overage cap per connector.
  • The terms say fees are in US dollars and generally non-refundable, payments are non-cancelable and non-pro-ratable for partial months, and non-renewal needs 30 days written notice; the docs say cancellation in Settings keeps the account active to period end, then reverts to Starter, and do not mention refunds.
  • The terms say that without an opt-in Fabi may send conversations, data-source metadata, sample field values and code to third-party LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic), and with opt-in all data; they bar sending financial or medical information. The subprocessor list also names Google and shows AWS hosting in the USA.

Plans and pricing

  • Starter: Free. Docs: 1 Builder seat, 25 AI requests a month, 5 Smartbooks, 10 dashboard viewers, 1 database connector, 50MB uploads; no application connectors or scheduling.
  • Builder: $39 a month per seat, billed monthly. Up to 3 builders, 300 AI requests a month, 10 Smartbooks, 25 viewers, 1 database connector, 100MB uploads, scheduled dashboards, application connectors at extra cost. 14-day free trial.
  • Team: $50 a month per seat, billed monthly. 4 or more builders, unlimited AI requests and Smartbooks, 50 viewers, 2 database connectors, 500MB uploads, Slack app. 14-day free trial.
  • Enterprise: Custom. Unlimited builders, AI requests, Smartbooks and database connectors, custom viewers and uploads, custom security review, quarterly roadmap reviews, fractional data science team.

Prices and limits were read from the vendor's pricing and billing docs page; the official fabi.ai/pricing page could not be fetched this session, so its figures are not repeated here. An earlier read of that page reported different limits (10 AI requests a day on Starter, 500 a month on Builder, $149 per application connector), so Reported figures may differ. The docs list per-seat monthly prices in US dollars and do not state annual billing. Confirm on the live pricing page.
