What is Craft?

Craft is a document and notes app with an AI assistant that answers questions about your content and can edit, restructure and style documents. The assistant runs on macOS, iOS, Windows and web, but Craft says editing is currently limited to macOS and iOS.

Who it's for

Craft's pricing page describes Plus as one full-featured account for an individual, with Family and Team plans that bundle several Plus accounts and shared spaces. Craft's help center describes the free Starter plan as suited to personal projects.

Pros & cons

Strengths

Craft's help center says the assistant has two modes: Explore, which proposes changes and waits for approval, and Execute, which applies changes directly.
Craft lists three cloud models (Core, Fast, Max) plus free on-device models that run locally and do not count against the AI quota; only Fast and Max support editing.
Craft's help center says you can connect your own OpenAI account or API key, or an Anthropic API key, on macOS and iOS, and that no Craft AI credits are spent while a connected provider is used.
Craft says MCP and API usage does not count toward the AI usage quota, and its pricing page lists API and MCP access at 100 requests a minute and 20,000 blocks a minute.
Craft's AI data page says Craft does not use your content to train AI models and that conversation history is kept for 30 days.
Craft's refund page lists a full refund within 30 days of an annual purchase or renewal, and within 14 days of the first charge on a monthly plan.

Limitations

The Starter (free) plan is capped at 1,500 blocks, 1 GB of storage, 25 MB media uploads and 7-day version history, and its AI allowance is 15 credits that Craft's usage page describes as lifetime, about 15-25 sessions.
AI use is metered: Plus includes about 25-50 sessions a month, cloud models count against the quota (Max uses the most, Core the least), editing costs more than chatting, and unused included quota does not carry over.
Extra AI usage is sold as USD top-up packs ($10 for up to 300 sessions, $40 for up to 1,500, $100 for up to 4,300) that expire 12 months after purchase.
Craft's own pages disagree: the pricing page shows Plus as $8.0 and $6.4 a month with an unlabeled Yearly/Monthly toggle and Family as 2 to 6 Plus accounts, while the help center shows Plus at $96 a year or $10 monthly and Family as up to 5 invited members.
Craft's security page does not state whether customer data is used for AI or where data is stored; its SOC 2 and GDPR headings carry no details, and compliance materials are offered on request. The AI data page names no model providers.

Team: $50 a month billed annually ($600 a year), or $60 monthly. Per the help center. Up to 10 invited members, each with a Plus account, plus up to 25 shared team spaces. Larger teams: contact Craft for custom pricing.

Prices were read from Craft's help center plans page, which lists monthly and annual amounts. The pricing page shows $8.0 and $6.4 for Plus and $15.0 and $12.0 for Family without saying which toggle position each belongs to, so it conflicts with the help center. Prices are in USD; the help center also lists a legacy Pro plan without a price. Confirm on the live pricing page.
