What is Akkio?
Akkio is a generative analytics and machine learning platform where users chat with their data to clean it, build charts and reports, and train forecasting models. It runs as a web app (app.akkio.com), with an API, and can be deployed in Akkio's shared cloud or inside a customer's own infrastructure.
Who it's for
The vendor aims it at business users without SQL or data science skills, and at marketing and advertising agencies and consultants that work with client data. The current pricing page sells an enterprise platform through sales, so it is not framed as a self-serve tool for individuals.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Akkio's chat page says users can build charts, dashboards and reports through chat and clean data (reformat dates, combine columns, remove outliers) without SQL or spreadsheet formulas.
- Akkio's docs list these data sources: CSV, Excel, Google Sheets, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Salesforce, HubSpot and PostgreSQL (marked beta).
- Akkio's blog lists features including Chat Explore, Chat Data Prep, Forecasting, Generative Reports, Audience Agent and Strategy Agent, plus an advertising-focused model for agencies.
- Akkio's FAQ says it is SOC 2 Type 2 certified, encrypts data at rest and in transit, and offers MFA and role-based access controls.
- Akkio's FAQ says client data is never shared or used for general model training, and that it can be deployed in the client's own cloud or on-prem.
- Akkio's privacy statement says AI model data is deleted within 2 days of voluntary account closure.
Limitations
- The pricing page shows one plan, Enterprise AI Analytics Platform, with custom pricing and no published seats, credits or data limits; you must contact sales.
- Vendor pages disagree on pricing: the AI chat landing page and a January 2024 blog post say plans start at $49 per month (Starter), but the current pricing page lists no self-serve plan.
- The app terms (dated October 2020) mention a one-week free trial followed by a free tier with monthly usage limits, but the current pricing page mentions neither; the limits are not published.
- The privacy statement says the service is hosted in the United States and data may be transferred to other countries; it neither states nor rules out use of customer data for model training, while the FAQ says client data is not used for general training.
- The app terms say Akkio gets a perpetual, irrevocable license to customers' models for training and improving its platform, and that a customer who ends the agreement for convenience receives no refund of fees already paid.
