What is Absorb LMS?

Absorb LMS is a cloud-based learning management system from Absorb Software that handles course delivery, compliance tracking and reporting, with an AI layer called Absorb Aura. It runs in the browser with a mobile app (Absorb Frontline) and connects to HR and CRM systems.

Who it's for

The vendor says it suits HR, L&D and compliance teams training employees, and also teams that train customers, partners and members, including organizations that sell courses. It publishes no self-serve plan, so it is sold through a sales conversation.

Pros & cons

Strengths

Absorb lists course creation, user management and automation, certifications and compliance tracking, reporting (Absorb Analyze), social learning and gamification (Absorb Engage), and mentoring and coaching on its product page.
The vendor lists SCORM, xAPI and HTML5 support, multi-portal environments with custom branding, eCommerce for selling courses, and a headless option (Absorb Infuse) with API and webhooks.
Absorb says Aura is a set of AI assistants: Aura Admin Assist for administrators, Aura Learner Agent for course search and questions, and Aura Create Agent (beta) for drafting courses in a chat interface.
Absorb's AI program page says Create AI generates course outlines, content and quizzes, plus voiceover, podcasts from prompts or uploaded PDFs and images (beta), and that Skills recommends paths and auto-tags skills to content.
Absorb says its GenAI program follows the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and that clients can enable or disable GenAI features.
Absorb says client data sent to third-party model providers through these features is not used to train the underlying large language models, and that client data is not shared with other clients.

Limitations

No prices are published. The vendor says it does not use rigid tiers and designs pricing around company size, training goals, usage patterns and budget, with Get Pricing and demo calls to action; minimums and contract terms are not stated.
On Absorb's own models, its AI page says limited prompt and interaction data (prompts, responses, feedback) may be used to improve its AI, but not client course materials without consent unless the training solely benefits that client.
Providers may retain data for auditing, typically 30 to 55 days depending on provider and feature, observability retention is up to 90 days, and conversation history stays in the LMS for the length of the agreement.
Some AI features are limited: Aura Assist is currently available only to administrators, Aura Create Agent is in beta, and GenAI images are available as available. The AI page does not mention pricing for them.
The product page read names no security certifications (it mentions secure infrastructure, a bug bounty program and a compliance overview page), and no refund or cancellation terms were found.

Plans and pricing

Absorb LMS (core platform): Contact sales. Quote-based; the vendor says price depends on features, training program size and support needs. A free trial is offered on the product page.
Absorb AI features (Create AI, Aura, Skills): Contact sales. The AI program page does not state pricing; features can be enabled or disabled by the client and some depend on configuration or availability.
