What is Rork?

Rork is an AI app builder where you describe an app in plain language and it writes the code, runs the builds and can publish to the App Store, Google Play or a web address. Rork's docs say it runs in the browser, with no Xcode or Android tooling needed.

Who it's for

Suits people who want to create iPhone, Android or web apps by chatting, without setting up a local development environment. Heavier or Apple-platform work (iPad, Apple Watch, Vision Pro) sits on the Max plan, which starts at $200 a month.

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • Rork's docs say it builds native iPhone, native Android and web apps from plain-language descriptions, all in the browser.
  • The docs list Pro at $20 a month with 100 credits and no daily cap, and Max from $200 a month with 1,000 to 10,000 credits depending on the tier.
  • The FAQ says App Store publishing is built in (an Apple Developer account is required) and that Android projects produce an .aab file to upload in Google Play Console.
  • The FAQ says users own the generated code on paid plans and can export it through a two-way GitHub sync: an Expo project from Pro, a SwiftUI Xcode project from Max.
  • The docs list ways to earn free credits, including connecting RevenueCat (up to 1,000 credits), joining the Discord community and writing guides.
  • The Terms of Service say users retain all rights to the content, applications and data they create or process with the service.

Limitations

  • The docs say Free is design mode only: 5 credits a day, up to 35 a month in major markets and 5 elsewhere, with no Build mode, dev mode or support.
  • The docs say some actions cost more than one credit (for example iOS builds and cloud simulator sessions), and the FAQ says credits cannot be bought separately: you upgrade or wait for the monthly reset. Reported: the preview simulator uses 0.2 build credits per minute.
  • The docs say Pro does not include iPad, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, games or iOS widgets; these start on Max at $200 a month. The FAQ says Max is iOS-only and cannot be published to Google Play.
  • Rork's own pages disagree: the FAQ says paid plans run from $25 to $200+ a month, lists Pro as React Native/Expo and puts chat support on $50+ plans, while the docs list Pro at $20 with email support and Start/Pro with iPhone (SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin).
  • The Privacy Policy does not say whether prompts or projects are used to train AI models, names AI generation providers only generically, and says project data may persist after account closure. Refunds are not addressed in the docs or Terms that were read.

Plans and pricing

  • Free: $0. Design mode only, no card. 5 credits a day; 35 a month in major markets, 5 elsewhere. No Build mode, dev mode or support.

Prices were read from Rork's docs page on plans and subscriptions, which lists monthly prices in USD (Start in rupees) and no annual billing. The rork.com/pricing page itself could not be fetched, and the FAQ's price range differs from the docs. Confirm on the live pricing page.
