What is Paradox?
Paradox is conversational hiring software built around an AI assistant called Olivia, which handles candidate screening, interview scheduling, question answering, offers and onboarding. It runs through text messaging, chat, email and career sites, with a Conversational ATS and a Candidate Experience Agent that sits next to an existing ATS, and a hiring-manager app.
Who it's for
Paradox says it focuses on high-volume frontline hiring (hourly roles) and also lists professional roles, with solutions grouped by global enterprise, mid-sized business and franchise. Its pages are written for companies buying through a demo, not for individuals or small teams signing up online.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Paradox lists a Conversational ATS and a separate Candidate Experience Agent; the vendor says the agent is designed to work alongside an existing ATS rather than replace it.
- The Candidate Experience Agent page lists Text-to-Apply (no login or account needed), self-scheduling, rescheduling, panel and group interviews, reminders, offer letters by text, and onboarding forms such as Form I-9.
- Channels listed include SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, website chat and email; the vendor also lists Indeed Apply and in-person or virtual hiring events.
- Paradox says it integrates with Workday (two-way SMS inside Workday Recruiting, a browser extension, calendar sync with Office 365, Exchange, Gmail and Teams) and shows a Workday Certified badge; it also lists SAP SuccessFactors, iCIMS, Oracle and ADP logos, and an open API.
- The vendor says it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications and complies with GDPR and CCPA, and it cites analytics with 1,000+ metrics plus sFTP export to BI tools.
- Workday completed its acquisition of Paradox on October 1, 2025 and describes the Candidate Experience Agent as available to new and existing customers through Workday or Paradox.
Limitations
- No prices are published: the site directs visitors to schedule a demo, and an independent comparison site (a competitor) also reports that Paradox does not list standard pricing. Reported third-party estimates are not vendor figures.
- There is no free plan or self-serve signup on the pages read; buying goes through a sales contract.
- Paradox's service terms say subscriptions renew automatically for one-year periods unless notice is given at least 30 days before the term ends, renewal fees can rise up to 5% a year, and there is no refund of fees already paid if the client terminates without cause.
- Paradox's service terms say it may use deidentified client data to train its natural language processing functionality and owns the resulting improvement data. A Paradox blog post separately says it does not want to use real candidate data for fine-tuning and instead builds derivative data from past interactions; the two pages do not fully match, so confirm in the contract.
- Language figures differ on Paradox's own pages: the Candidate Experience Agent page says 30+ languages in one place and 100+ languages in another, and the home page says 100+. The terms also bar fully automated employment decisions with legal effect unless a human reviews the final decision.
Plans and pricing
- Conversational ATS: Custom pricing. Paradox's full applicant tracking system with conversational apply, scheduling, events, CRM and onboarding. No price listed; request a demo.
- Candidate Experience Agent: Custom pricing. Olivia layered on an existing ATS for screening, scheduling, Q&A, offers and onboarding. Also offered through Workday as Workday Paradox. No price listed.
- Paradox for Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and Indeed: Custom pricing. Integration editions named on the site (for example two-way SMS inside Workday Recruiting). Whether these are priced separately is not stated.
Prices could not be read because Paradox does not publish them; the home page, Candidate Experience Agent page and Workday partner page all point to a demo. Billing terms (annual invoicing in advance, US dollars) come from the service terms. Confirm on the live pricing page or with sales.
Details checked October 2026 against the vendor's own pages. Prices and limits change, so confirm before you buy. Official pricing page ↗
