What is Greenhouse?

Greenhouse is a cloud hiring platform that covers applicant tracking, sourcing, interview scheduling, an AI interview notetaker, and reporting. Its site describes an employer side (Greenhouse) and a job seeker side (MyGreenhouse), and it is sold through a sales process, not self-serve sign-up.

Who it's for

The vendor says it targets enterprises, scaling companies, and early-stage businesses that want structured hiring, and says it is used by 7,500+ employers. It is aimed at company hiring teams, not at individual job seekers or freelancers.

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • The pricing page lists three tiers that each build on the one before (Core, Plus, Pro), with sourcing and CRM, structured interview kits and scorecards, scheduling, reporting and analytics, and SSO already in Core.
  • The pricing page says AI Notetaker, scorecard attribute suggestions, interview question suggestions, offer forecast, and job post description suggestions are on all tiers.
  • The vendor's AI features article lists each AI feature with the plan it needs, including report filters (Plus and Pro) and resume anonymization (Pro).
  • The vendor's AI principles page says AI is never the final decision-maker, that customers can switch any AI feature on or off at the org level, and that Talent Matching can be turned on or off by office, department, or job.
  • The AI principles page says Talent Matching and the AI Interviewer get monthly independent bias audits by Warden AI across ten protected classes.
  • The products page mentions prebuilt integrations, an open API, an integrations directory, and MCP connections for tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini; it gives no current partner count (a 2018 vendor post cited 250+ partners).

Limitations

  • No prices are published. The pricing page says pricing is customized to hiring needs and is obtained by requesting a demo; it mentions no free plan or free trial.
  • Tiers are capped on features, not on listed numbers: the feature table gives 1 CRM event on Core and Plus and unlimited on Pro, and no other numeric caps are published.
  • Fraud and spam detection, AI-powered report filters, BI Connector, Sourcing Automation, and texting are not in Core. Audit log, developer sandbox, configurable security settings, and resume anonymization are Pro-only.
  • Vendor pages differ on Talent Matching: the pricing page lists it under Core, while the AI features article says it is available on Core, Plus, and Pro with the Real Talent add-on. Sourcing Automation emails also need the Sourcing Automation add-on.
  • On data use, the vendor says it does not use customers' personal data to train models and trains its own models only on anonymized data, but its support FAQ says turning AI features off does not opt a customer out of that anonymized training. It uses OpenAI as a third-party AI provider and does not support bring-your-own OpenAI keys.

Plans and pricing

  • Core: Custom pricing (request a demo). Sourcing and CRM, structured interview kits and scorecards, AI Notetaker, scheduling, reporting and analytics, SSO, and Talent Matching; 1 CRM event.
  • Plus: Custom pricing (request a demo). Everything in Core, plus AI-powered report filters, BI Connector, Sourcing Automation, texting, fraud and spam detection, auto-reject and auto-advance, and multi-brand job boards; 1 CRM event.
  • Pro: Custom pricing (request a demo). Everything in Plus, plus unlimited CRM events, audit log, developer sandbox and sync, application limits, session time-out settings, and resume anonymization.

Read from the official pricing page, which lists plan features but no dollar amounts; the price depends on plan, hiring volume, organizational complexity, and features. An independent source (Vendr, February 2026) reports a median of about $26,553 a year with a range of about $10,215 to $74,007, but it uses older tier names (Essential, Advanced, Expert), so it is Reported and not a list price.
