What is Elai.io?
Elai is a browser-based AI video generator that turns scripts, PowerPoint (PPTX) files and articles or URLs into videos with AI presenters. Its site says Elai is part of Panopto, and it is aimed at training and other business video.
Who it's for
Elai's site focuses on learning and development teams and lists use cases such as training, sales enablement, compliance, customer education and marketing. Its Terms of Service grant individual users a personal, non-commercial license, with Enterprise customers covered by separate agreements.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Elai says it converts PPTX files into editable video slides, and also converts articles or URLs and builds AI storyboards from a script or course outline.
- Elai lists 80+ AI presenters and 75+ languages, and the pricing page shows the Free plan with both.
- Elai lists a template library, two-avatar dialogue videos, interactive video, screen recording and automated translation into 75+ languages on its homepage.
- The pricing page lists Ultra 4K video, premium voices, custom images and fonts, 3 editors plus 3 guests on Team, and Brand Kit, workspaces, SSO, premium avatars and premium support on Enterprise.
- The Enterprise page describes SSO, an API with linked documentation, Brand Kit templates, a dedicated account manager and a custom number of seats.
- The pricing page lists a prepaid subscription model only, and says cancellation is done under Manage subscription with unused minutes lasting to the end of the term.
Limitations
- The Free plan includes 1 minute of video per month and Creator includes 15, per the pricing page. Every render uses minutes, including re-renders of the same video, and deleting projects does not restore them.
- Extra minutes cost $2 each and are sold only on paid subscriptions. Studio Avatar ($500 a year), Selfie Avatar ($199 a year) and Voice Cloning ($200 a year) are listed as annual add-ons.
- The pricing page marks premium voices, Brand Kit, SSO, workspaces, SCORM export, the Panopto integration and premium avatars as not available on Free and Creator, and lists the public API as unavailable on Creator. Team adds Ultra 4K, premium voices, 1 selfie avatar and 1 voice clone but still excludes SSO, workspaces, SCORM export, the Panopto integration and premium avatars. The matrix could not be fully read, so confirm per-tier features.
- The Terms of Service (updated March 13, 2026) grant a personal, non-commercial license, do not say who owns generated videos, and say unused minutes are forfeited at the end of each billing cycle and fees are non-refundable. The pricing FAQ says unused minutes last until the end of the current term, so the two pages differ.
- The pricing page says that after cancellation data is stored for one year and you can watch, share and download rendered projects but not edit or re-render them. The Terms say termination may involve deletion of User Content and give no retention period, so the two pages differ.

- Creator: $23 a month billed annually ($276 a year), or $29 monthly. 15 minutes per month, 1 seat, Full HD video. Public API listed as unavailable.
- Team: $100 a month billed annually ($1,200 a year), or $125 monthly. 50 minutes per month listed (the page shows 50/100/150 options), 3 editors plus 3 guests, Ultra 4K video, premium voices, custom images and fonts, 1 selfie avatar and 1 voice clone on annual billing.
- Enterprise: Custom. Unlimited users, 3 voice clones and 3 selfie avatars, premium avatars, Brand Kit, workspaces, SSO, premium support, SOC 2. FAQ mentions unlimited annual minutes. Contact sales.
Prices were read from Elai's official pricing page in US dollars. The page's feature matrix lost its checkmarks when read, so per-tier features are partly inferred from dash markers and plan descriptions. The pricing page lists SOC 2, but the Enterprise page only shows an AICPA badge and does not state it. Watermark and commercial-use rules for paid plans were not stated; confirm on the live pricing page.
