What is Clearscope?
Clearscope is a web-based content platform that says it helps content get found in Google and in AI answer engines such as ChatGPT. It offers modules for topic discovery, writing, optimization, monitoring, localization and internal linking, and connects to Google Docs, Microsoft Word and WordPress.
Who it's for
Clearscope's pages speak to brands, marketers, content writers and bloggers who want SEO-guided content and visibility tracking in AI search. The vendor's pricing page also offers an Enterprise tier with SSO and custom agreements for larger organizations.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Clearscope lists Expand, Discover, Write, Optimize, Protect, Localize and Linking as its product modules, covering topic research through ongoing content monitoring.
- The Optimize page says it gives real-time grading of topic coverage with a content score while you draft, plus citations and popular questions to answer.
- The Optimize page lists integrations with Google Docs, Microsoft Word and WordPress.
- The pricing page lists unlimited users and projects on every plan, and unlimited sharing and exporting.
- The pricing page says every plan tracks queries across ChatGPT and Gemini and includes brand visibility tracking, free training and onboarding, and priority support.
- Clearscope says it does not sell customer data and that drafts, brand voice and style examples are never used to train its models.
Limitations
- Plans are metered by credits: Essentials includes 50 tracked queries, 50 pages, 20 monthly discoveries and 20 monthly drafts; Business includes 300, 300, 50 and 20.
- Extra capacity costs more: the pricing page lists add-ons of extra pages (Essentials $25, Business $15) and extra drafts (Essentials $50, Business $20), and does not state the billing period for drafts.
- Vendor pages disagree: a support article on add-ons describes Essentials as $189 a month with 20 drafts and 100 content inventory pages, while the pricing page shows $129 and 50 pages.
- The pricing page lists only monthly prices, shows no annual discount and states no refund policy; the trial is advertised as 14 days but the page does not say if a card is needed.
- Crawler whitelisting and single sign-on are listed only under Enterprise, and the support article says invoiced Enterprise plans cannot use add-ons. Content marketing and strategy services are sold separately.
