About each tool
P

Perplexity Pro
AI search and assistant that answers with cited sources. Free plan; Pro adds higher Research, file-upload and browser-agent limits. Pro price reported at $200 a year or $20 monthly.
Who it is for
Individuals who do research or multi-step searches and want higher limits than the Free plan. Verified students and educators have a separate Education Pro plan, and teams and organizations are directed to Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max.
Strengths
- Pro includes advanced AI models, image generation, and limited video generation, per the help center
- Pro has Research mode, Create files and apps, and a browser agent (Comet Assistant), each with monthly limits for average use
- Pro can upload PDFs, CSVs, audio, video and images, with up to 50 file uploads per project
- Free, Pro and Max users can opt out of AI training in Account settings
- Enterprise plans state that organization data is never used to train or fine-tune Perplexity's models, and the Enterprise Pro article says Perplexity is SOC 2 Type II certified
Limitations
- The Free plan has 3 Pro Searches a day and 1 Research query a month, with no advanced models, no image generation and no browser agent
- Paid-plan limits are not published as numbers. The comparison page says Pro has weekly limits for Pro Searches and monthly limits for Research, browser agent queries and file or app creation, based on average use
- The Pro article says access to advanced model queries may be limited during weeks of especially heavy usage
- A subscription does not include API access, which is billed separately with prepaid credits
F

Felo AI
AI search with cited sources, plus slides and a research agent on one credit balance. Free plan; Pro is $12.50 a month billed annually (Reported), $14.99 monthly.
Who it is for
It suits people who do regular web research, including across languages, and want cited answers or generated slides and reports from one credit balance. Felo's own pricing post presents the free plan for daily search needs and Pro for heavier advanced-search use.
Strengths
- Felo's credits post says the free plan refreshes 200 credits daily, and lists 5 Pro searches, 1 Research run and 3 Playground runs a day as trial quotas.
- Felo's credits post says Pro includes 15,000 plan credits per billing cycle, which it estimates covers about 100 pages of slides, 40 interactive web pages or 100 Research tasks.
- The same post says that once Pro credits run out, Pro users still get 300 Pro searches or Playground runs per day, and paying users can buy bonus credit packs valid for 90 days.
- Reported: the product supports cross-language search with answers in the user's language, a Research Agent that splits a topic into sub-questions, academic and X search, and document knowledge from uploaded material.
- Felo's credits post publishes per-feature credit costs, for example 15 per Pro Search, 150 per Research run, 100 per slide page and 50 per generated image.
Limitations
- Felo's credits post says unused plan credits expire at the end of the billing cycle and free daily credits reset at midnight, with no rollover.
- Credits are metered by feature: Felo lists 375 credits per AI web page generation, 200 per slide page from a template and 500 per hour of the AI voice assistant, so the number of tasks 15,000 credits cover depends on the mix used.
- Felo's refund terms in the credits post say that on a refund plan credits are cleared immediately, and bonus credits are non-refundable. Cancelling auto-renew stops new plan credits.
- Felo's pricing post (October 10, 2024) describes Pro as 300 professional searches a day with no credits or annual price, while the newer credits post (marked updated 2026/8/11 but also dated July 9, 2025 for launch) uses credits; the pricing post's wording is out of date.
