Homerun vs Workable
Homerun and Workable side by side: what each one is, what it costs to start, and whether you can try it free. Everything below comes from the vendors' own sites and other public sources, not from hands-on testing.
Neither tool is ranked above the other here. These are research-based profiles, not hands-on tests. Starting price is the lowest listed paid plan per month (annual-billing equivalent where the vendor lists one), as shown on the vendor's own site when we last checked. Prices change, so confirm on the vendor's site.

About each tool
H

Homerun
Hiring and applicant-tracking platform with a 15-day free trial and no free plan; Core appears to start at €109 a month billed annually (€139 monthly).
Who it is for
The vendor's plan structure (job slots plus employee seats) points to small and mid-size teams that run their own hiring and want branded job pages and a shared pipeline. Its AI page says it is built around structured, process-driven hiring rather than AI automation.
Strengths
- The pricing page says every job post includes employer branding, applicant tracking, interview scheduling and structured hiring, and lists a custom domain, removal of 'Hiring with Homerun' branding, version history and a public API.
- The ATS page lists a visual pipeline with customizable stages, per-stage scorecards with competency criteria, comments, mentions, tags, permissions, bulk actions, a talent pool, 2FA and multi-language support.
- The integrations page lists 28 integrations, including job boards (Google for Jobs, Indeed, LinkedIn, LinkedIn Limited Listings, Swipe4Work, VONQ), calendars and video (Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Exchange Calendar, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams), Slack, and HR or API connectors (Apideck, Merge, Nmbrs, HoorayHR, Buddee).
- The help center says paid plans (Core, Plus) have unlimited candidates and unlimited emails.
- The pricing page says nonprofits get 20% off and each extra employee seat costs €4 a month.
- The ATS page lists 20+ interview question templates, 70+ job description templates and 12 job post templates.
Limitations
- Plans are limited by active job slots and employee seats. The help center says jobs in Public, Private or Closed state count (Draft and Archived do not), and at the limit you must archive a job or upgrade to open a new one.
- The pricing page describes a 12-month commitment and says to notify Homerun at least 30 days before renewal; the Terms of Service say paid terms are one month or one year, renew automatically, require at least one month's notice, and state that no refunds will be issued. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current term.
- The pricing page conflicts with itself: cards show Core and Plus, a comparison table shows Light, Basic and Plus with different prices, Plus shows 5 or 10 job slots, the annual saving is stated as '20% or more' and as 'up to 15%', and the trial FAQ mentions a Starter plan. The help center gives seats as 25 for Core and 50 or more for Plus, while the table shows 25, 75 and 150.
- Fees are in EUR or GBP, exclude VAT (21% added for the Netherlands), and Homerun may change fees with one month's notice. The Terms say Dutch law governs, and the ATS data is deleted 30 days after termination (HR data after 90 days).
W

Workable
Hiring platform with applicant tracking, sourcing and HR tools, plus a credit-based AI agent add-on. Standard is $299 a month, or $3,588 billed yearly.
Who it is for
Workable prices all plans by company size, with employee bands from 1-20 up to 1,000+, so it is aimed at small to large employers that want recruiting and HR in one account. The Agent is for paid Recruiting package customers who want AI help with sourcing, screening and candidate engagement, and the vendor says recruiters keep the final hiring decision.
Strengths
- Workable lists unlimited active jobs on all three paid plans, subject to fair usage limits, plus an ATS, a candidate sourcing suite, 200+ job board distributions and 9 native language options.
- Workable says the Agent can source passive candidates, score applicants from 0 to 100 against up to 14 criteria, and chat with candidates by email and chat invitation. The Job brief Agent, which builds the job profile and description, is free to use.
- Workable's help center says auto-advance and auto-disqualify are settings you can turn off (auto-disqualify is off by default), disqualifications can be reverted, and any manual action on a candidate stops the Agent from acting on that person.
- Workable says admins can disable AI features for the whole account, and that candidates are told they are interacting with an AI assistant.
- Workable states ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and SOC 2 Type II certifications on its Agent page, and says protected characteristics are excluded from scoring.
- Workable says every paid account starts with 3,000 free AI credits, and Standard also includes SSO and priority support.
Limitations
- The Agent is not covered by the plan price. Actions use credits (listed: 1 per candidate screened, 2 per passive candidate sourced, 10 per candidate chat interaction), and extra credits are sold in bundles: 5,000 for $600, 10,000 for $1,000 and 50,000 for $4,750. Larger volumes need a custom quote.
- The pricing page says credits expire one year after purchase and are non-refundable, and the help center says the 3,000 free credits expire one year after plan activation. The trial does not include the Agent.
- Workable's terms say subscriptions renew automatically for one-year terms, renewal prices can rise by up to 5%, fees are non-refundable except as the agreement provides, and Workable may use aggregated usage data to develop its services. The Agent page also says customer data is used to improve in-house AI systems.
