About each tool
S

Snyk
Developer security platform for code, dependencies, containers and IaC; Free plan available, Team starts at $25 a month billed monthly (up to 10 developers).
Who it is for
Snyk's pricing page lists Free for individual developers and small teams, Team for development teams of up to 10 developers, and a prepaid-credit Enterprise subscription for larger organizations. Maintainers of open source projects can apply to use Snyk at no cost.
Strengths
- Snyk lists a Free plan at $0 with SCA, SAST, IaC and container scanning, real-time code scanning, and IDE, CLI and source code manager integrations.
- Snyk's developer-tools docs name GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure Repos for source control, and GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines and Bitbucket Pipelines for CI/CD, plus Jira and Slack integrations.
- Snyk's docs say its generative AI features (such as Agent Fix & Explain) run on third-party models, including Claude through AWS Bedrock or GCP Vertex, and list per feature what data is sent; for Agent Fix & Explain it is code snippets limited to the vulnerability's scope.
- Snyk's Enterprise rate card lists Code and Open Source at 1.0 credit per active contributor per day, with each credit priced at $1 and usable across any capability; admins can turn capabilities on or off.
- Snyk says Enterprise accounts can be hosted in the US-1, US-2, EU and AU regions.
Limitations
- Free is capped at 5 projects. The pricing table shows 100 Snyk Code tests a month, and the FAQ lists 200 Open Source, 100 Code, 300 IaC and 100 Container tests; the table cells for the other products are blank, so the period for the other figures is not stated.
- The Evo capabilities (AI-SPM, coding agent security, AI pentesting) require an Enterprise Platform Subscription, which has no public price; AI pentesting is listed at 4,000 credits per assessment, and usage beyond the prepaid pool is billed on demand and invoiced in arrears.
- Enterprise credits are valid for the contract term and unused credits expire at the end of the order term and cannot be refunded or transferred. The docs page on AI features does not state a retention period or an opt-out for data sent to those models.
A

Aikido Security
Application security platform for code and cloud that says it uses AI for fixes and triage; free Developer plan, Basic $300 a month for 10 users (10% annual discount advertised).
Who it is for
Development and security teams that want one place for code and cloud scanning; the pricing page offers a free plan for small setups and bundles of 10 or more users on paid plans. The page also lists up to 30% off for startups (under 1.5M in funding and under 10 team members) and says all non-profits are eligible.
Strengths
- The pricing page lists a free-forever Developer plan with no credit card required, and the homepage lists scanner types for dependencies (SCA), SAST, secrets, DAST, container images, cloud misconfigurations, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes and virtual machines.
- Aikido says it does not store customer code after analysis: each repository is cloned into a fresh Docker container that is wiped and terminated afterward, with stated exceptions for AutoFix diffs and a SAST AutoTriage call tree kept up to 2 weeks.
- The Trust Center says Aikido is ISO 27001:2022, ISO 42001 and SOC 2 Type II compliant, FedRAMP Class C (Moderate) certified and in compliance with GDPR; these are vendor statements.
- Aikido Agent is documented as handling chat about findings, SAST and secrets AutoTriage, CVE exploitability analysis for dependencies and containers, and natural-language custom reports.
Limitations
- Advanced AI features such as AI pentesting, deep PR reviews and AI code analysis use credits. The page lists credits on Pro (100 a month) and Advanced (200 a month) but not on Basic or Developer; an Aikido Max add-on with unlimited monthly credits is available by quote, and a fair usage policy applies.
- Pentests are priced separately from the platform plans. The pricing page lists a typical pentest at $4,000 per assessment and a rightsized pentest from $50 to $30,000+, and the help page prices them in credits at 1 credit = $1 (standard pentest 4,000 credits).
- Pro and Advanced both show $600 a month, and the page does not explain the difference in price. A 10% off annual toggle is shown without saying which plans it applies to or whether the displayed price is monthly or annual; prices exclude taxes, and no trial length, refund or cancellation terms are stated.
