About each tool
M

Masterpiece X
Browser-based text-to-3D generator for characters, animals and objects, billed in credits; the site now tags it Legacy. 750 credits is $10.99 a month, monthly billing.
Strengths
- The pricing page says no hardware or software installation is needed for Text-to-3D creation of characters, animals and objects.
- The Generate page lists a 'creative slider' for producing several variations of a model and says models work with Unity, Unreal Engine and Blender, with unlimited downloads.
- The pricing page lists three monthly credit packs (750, 1,500 and 3,000 credits) plus a one-time 750-credit pack bought as needed.
- The API docs describe a beta pay-as-you-go API with no monthly fee, a fixed 50 credits per Generate request, and credits refunded when a request fails.
- The terms say you retain rights in content you generate, subject to the Community Library license and the company's own rights in its offerings.
Limitations
- The pricing page shows a 'Special Launch Offer' of 250 free credits for new accounts and describes no ongoing free plan.
- The vendor home page now tags the web generator, the Community Library and the VR app as 'Legacy' with no end date, and lists WorldEngen, a desktop editor in Early Access with a 7-day trial and pay-per-credit pricing without amounts. The pricing page still lists the Generate packs.
- Credits cannot be converted or exchanged for cash, the terms do not address credit expiry, subscriptions renew automatically, and fees are non-refundable subject to Paid Terms (the pricing page has no refund text).
- Content shared to the Community Library is released under CC0 and cannot be revoked, the company may use content for machine learning if results do not identify you, and it does not guarantee generated content is unique to you. The personal-use license is not for resale or further distribution.
M

Meshy

Who it is for
The vendor lists plans for individual creators, high-volume creators, studios and teams, and large organisations. It offers plugins and bridges for Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot, Maya, 3ds Max and Roblox.
Strengths
- A free plan with 100 credits a month and no card needed
- Exports GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, USDZ and 3MF according to the export guide; the pricing page also lists .blend
- Pro and above include API access, plugins and the DCC bridge for Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot, Maya, 3ds Max and Roblox
- Paid plans produce private assets that the customer owns
- Failed generations are not charged, and cancelled tasks are refunded in credits
Limitations
- Free has 100 credits a month, 1 concurrent task, low queue priority and no free retries
- Free outputs are licensed CC BY 4.0, so commercial use needs attribution
- Multi-view Image to 3D, Text to Image, Remesh, AI texture editing and API access are listed as Pro and above

- Refunds are generally not offered, with exceptions through support
