About each tool
L

Lara Translate
AI translation for text, documents, images and audio in 200+ languages and 70 file formats; Free has 60,000 characters a month. Pro is $9.99 a month billed annually.
Who it is for
It suits individuals who translate occasionally on the free plan, freelancers on Pro, and teams that share one character pool across unlimited users. Larger organizations can ask for SSO, data residency and guaranteed SLAs on the Enterprise plan.
Strengths
- Lara's file-formats page lists 70 supported document formats, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, CSV, JSON, XLIFF, PO, SRT and several image types, and its API page says layout and styling are preserved.
- Lara's API page says text and documents cover over 200 languages, images 70+ languages and audio 50+ languages.
- The pricing page says Incognito mode on all plans means your content is never stored, logged or used for training, and the API page says data is never used to train its public models.
- The pricing page lists translation styles, explanations of translation choices and context features on Free, and adds mobile apps, scanned PDF support, integrations, CAT tool and API usage on Pro.
- Team plans share one pool across unlimited users at no per-person charge, and Lara's update log describes Team Groups for sharing glossaries and translation memories.
- On Pro and Team, usage past the monthly pool continues at an extra-usage rate instead of stopping, according to the help center.
Limitations
- Usage comes from a monthly character pool that does not roll over. Documents count at least 20,000 characters per file, an image counts 10,000 (web) or 25,000 (iOS and Android), audio counts 40 characters per second and live Voice Interpreter 400 characters per second.
- Lara's pages disagree: the pricing page lists USD prices, extra usage of $0.30 (Pro) and $0.25 (Team) per 10,000 characters, a 200 MB document limit and higher tiers adding quality and features, while the help center lists EUR prices, extra usage of 0.25 and 0.20 EUR, says Free and Pro include all features, and the file-formats page says there are no file size limits.
